At Ilomäki farm stay holidays, we offer our visitors cosy and comfortable cottage accommodation, beautiful nature, Finnish traditions and plenty of peace and seclusion all year round in the small village of Peräseinäjoki, close to the city of Seinäjoki, in western Finland.

A visit to Ilomäki is a chance for you to immerse yourself in authentic rural life: enjoying the scent of fresh hay, meeting the many animals living on our farm and making the most of the unhurried pace. These wonderful experiences are ideally suited for all the family, including small children and are an excellent opportunity to have a genuine experience of the Finnish countryside.

Ilomäki Farm has been in the same family since 1827. These days, we offer holiday accommodation alongside our more traditional farming activities. We welcomed our first guests in 1999 and have continued to expand our offering ever since. There are now seven unique cottages dotted around our farm, suitable for 2–9 guests. A further six-person cottage is available at Kalajärvi Holiday Park, around 6 km from the farm.

Ilomäki Farm is family-run and the owners, the sixth generation to run the farm, continue to live here. Merja and Jarmo Ilomäki and their daughter Manta are responsible for the day-to-day running of the farm, and are supported by the previous generation of farmers, Päivi and Reijo Ilomäki. We very much look forward to our guests arriving and you are always welcome to come and watch as we go about our daily tasks on the farm. If you prefer, you are of course welcome to have a more private experience and simply enjoy the quiet and seclusion your cottage offers.

We do know from experience that spending time with the animals on the farm tends to be a genuine holiday highlight for our younger guests, and often for the older guests too. In addition to our family and guests, Ilomäki farm is home to a horse, a pony, sheep and rabbits. There are plenty of opportunities for laid-back fun for families and groups alike, including walks, outdoor games and enjoyingan authentic Finnish löyly in the sauna.

Just the experience of spending time living on a real working farm is enough to make the visit really special for our guests. If you’re looking for more to do, however, many local attractions are within easy reach of the farm, including amusement parks like Powerpark and the Duudson Activity Park, while Ähtäri Zoo is a chance for you to get face-to-face with a wide range of Finnish animals and even a pair of giant pandas.  Thanks to our central location, our farm is ideally placed for exploring the wider region, and you can always be sure of a warm welcome when you return to the farm after a busy day of sightseeing and activities.
